Alan Turing

Alan Turing (1912 – 1952) was a mathematician code-breaker from WW2 whose “Turing Machine” is considered to be a conceptual model of a general purpose computer.

He was particularly interested in mathematical biology and wrote a paper on The Chemical Basis Of Morphogenesis which now other research has caught up with him and 60 years after his death, has proved to contain unusual and accurate insights into how plants grow.

His life was lost due to intolerance and leaves a huge question as to what he might have revealed had he lived longer.
